Soul Mate

This work was inspired by the magnitude and emotional impact of poetry by Emanuele Bello. The emphasis of the work resists dwelling on the darkness and chooses the ecstasy of life within the spirit.

The initial underdrawing began with fall leaves cascading from the sky.

God, the central figure stares at His creation of man and woman, formed in His image and with the capacity of unconditional love in both life and death. God clutches in a fist held tight the union silhouetted against the night.

The female Spirit in the top left stands alone and bold, upholding role and spirit, modeling the example of Christ.

Gathered at the foot of the crucifix are gossips and onlookers. Man and woman’s embrace unlocks love’s heart held meaning.

Love and truth transcend all time, while season’s come and go. God’s greatest gift, His perfect love will forever hold one’s soul.
